The Colorado High School Activities Association announced on March 14 that the 2026 Girls Basketball State Championships will take place with all six state championship games scheduled for Saturday, March 14. The tournament includes classifications from 1A to 6A, with each round’s results and dates outlined for participating teams.
The event is significant as it brings together high school teams from across the state to compete for championship titles in their respective divisions. All games are set to be streamed live on the NFHS Network, allowing fans and families to follow the action remotely.
For the 6A and 5A tournaments, games leading up to the finals have been held at various dates starting in late February, culminating in championship matches at Denver Coliseum. The 4A tournament also concludes at Denver Coliseum, while the 3A final games will be played at the University of Denver. The lower classifications—2A and 1A—will see their finals hosted at Moby Arena in Fort Collins and the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, respectively.
Each classification has followed a bracket format with first rounds beginning as early as February 25 for higher classes and March 6 for others. Semifinals took place between March 11 and March 13, setting up a full day of championship contests on March 14.
This annual event highlights student-athletes’ achievements throughout the season and provides an opportunity for schools statewide to showcase their basketball programs. With live streaming available, more supporters can watch their teams compete regardless of location.
Looking ahead, CHSAA continues its tradition of organizing statewide competitions that foster sportsmanship and community engagement among Colorado high schools.
