The Colorado High School Activities Association announced on Mar. 12 that the 2A Boys and Girls Basketball Great 8 games, originally scheduled for Thursday at Colorado State University’s Moby Arena, will be relocated to Longmont High School and Frederick High School.
The change comes after the closure of the CSU campus due to high winds, which will keep the campus closed for the remainder of the day. The association advised attendees not to come to CSU’s campus.
Tickets already purchased for Thursday’s second session will be honored at both new venues, with parking available free of charge at each location. Doors are set to open at 3:30 p.m. at Longmont High School and at 4:30 p.m. at Frederick High School.
According to CHSAA, the tournament is expected to return to CSU’s Moby Arena on Friday. The updated schedule lists two games at Longmont—Simla versus Vail Christian in boys’ basketball at 4 p.m., followed by Merino versus Akron in girls’ basketball at 5:30 p.m.—and three games at Frederick—Golden View Classical Academy versus Plateau Valley in boys’ basketball at 5:30 p.m., Sanford versus Plateau Valley in girls’ basketball at 7 p.m., and Sanford versus Limon in boys’ basketball at 8:30 p.m.
All games will be available for live viewing on the NFHS Network.
