The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) has announced the release of state tournament brackets for class 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A basketball. The announcement covers both boys’ and girls’ competitions.

According to CHSAA, league champions automatically secured spots in each bracket. The remaining teams were selected based on the final data from the CHSAA Seeding & Selection Index, which also determined the seeding order. Each bracket features a field of 32 teams.

For this year’s tournaments, the Class 3A bracket will include a third-place game. Classes 2A and 1A will hold both third- and fifth-place games.

More information about how teams are seeded can be found on CHSAA’s official FAQ page.

The list of qualifiers and their seeds is now available. Last week, brackets for classes 6A and 5A were released, with Sweet 16 and Great 8 games scheduled for this week.

Games for classes 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A are set to begin this week.

“League champions automatically qualified for each bracket. From there, the remainder of each bracket is filled out using the final data from the CHSAA Seeding & Selection Index. That data also seeds the fields,” stated CHSAA in its release.

“All brackets have a 32-team fields. The 3A bracket will play a third-place game, while the 2A and 1A brackets will play third- and fifth-place games,” according to CHSAA officials.
