The opening round of the 2026 CHSAA 4A Boys Basketball State Tournament took place on Friday, with all games hosted by the higher-seeded teams. The winners from these matchups will move forward to the second round, scheduled for Saturday.
Saturday’s successful teams will advance to the Great 8, which is set to be held at the Denver Coliseum on Wednesday, March 11.
The second-round pairings include Kent Denver facing Stargate School, Montezuma-Cortez playing The Classical Academy, Holy Family against Peak to Peak, Lamar meeting Fort Lupton, Timnath taking on Eagle Ridge Academy, Aspen matched up with Coal Ridge, Eaton playing University, and Prospect Ridge Academy versus Denver West.
In Friday’s first-round results: Kent Denver defeated Berthoud 90-62; Montezuma-Cortez overcame Rifle 56-44; Holy Family won over Elizabeth 70-42; Lamar edged Jefferson Academy 46-40; Timnath beat The Pinnacle 77-39; Aspen triumphed over Englewood 47-37; Eaton bested Pagosa Springs 70-46; Prospect Ridge Academy outscored Pueblo Centennial 63-48; Denver West topped Delta 70-32; University handled The Academy 70-49; Coal Ridge got past DSST: Montview 74-60; Eagle Ridge Academy won against DSST: Green Valley Ranch 59-54; Fort Lupton prevailed over Fort Morgan 58-50; Peak to Peak defeated DSST: Conservatory Green 55-51; Stargate School narrowly beat Moffat County 53-51 and The Classical Academy overcame Manitou Springs by a score of 47-40.
