Aurora Public Schools issued the following announcement on Oct. 2.
Congratulations to APS Superintendent Rico Munn for being named a national finalist for the prestigious Green-Garner Award!The Council of the Great City Schools award is the highest honor in urban education.
The Council says Superintendent Munn is being recognized for “a strong dedication to the needs of students, a profound commitment to improvement and exemplifying significant community involvement and leadership.”
The Green-Garner Award is given annually to one superintendent or school board member nationwide and recognizes outstanding contributions in urban education. Finalists for the 2020 award include Superintendents from Dallas, Los Angeles and New York City. The winner will be announced on Oct. 15.
