Aurora Public Library issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.
Spread the joy this holiday season by getting a shelter pet a gift! Dogs and cats alike love to play with toys and indulge in treats. What better way to help shelter animals find some happiness while they are waiting for their new homes at the Aurora Animal Shelter?
If you are interested in making a shelter pet's day this holiday season, the shelter will have a drop off container at the front door for gifts in addition to an Amazon Present Wish List. Visit https://bit.ly/PresentsForShelterPets for a list of needed items. These items have been approved by the shelter's behavior team and are items in high need at the shelter that will provide the best bang for the buck in regard to safety and long-term enrichment for the pets!
If you would like to receive a photo of a shelter animal playing with their new toy, please provide your email on your gift. On behalf of the animals in the care of Aurora Animal Shelter, we greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity!
