AURORA CITY: City Announces Christmas, New Year's Closures

Aurora City issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.

The following city of Aurora locations will be closed or have special hours because of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays:

All Municipal Offices and Courts

  • Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 – closed
Animal Shelter

  • Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 – closed (for urgent animal-related matters that cannot wait until the next business day, call 303.627.3100)
Libraries

  • Dec. 24 and 31 – close at 5 p.m.

    Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 – closed

    Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 – closed except for Mission Viejo curbside service

    No fines will be assessed and no holds will expire on closed days.

Parks, Recreation & Open Space

  • Aurora Reservoir

    Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 – closed

  • Beck Recreation Center

    Dec. 24, 25 and 31, and Jan. 1 – closed

  • Central Recreation Center

    Dec. 24, 25 and 31, and Jan. 1 – closed

  • Golf Courses

    Dec. 25 – closed

    All golf courses are open other days through the holidays, dependent on weather and snow cover. Please call the courses to check on availability.

  • Moorhead Recreation Center

    Dec. 24, 25 and 31, and Jan. 1 – closed

  • Morrison Nature Center

    Dec. 24 and 31 – open noon to 4 p.m.

    Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 – closed

  • Plains Conservation Center

    Dec. 24 and 31 – open noon to 4:30 p.m.

    Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 – closed

  • Preschools

    Dec. 24, 25 and 31, and Jan. 1 - closed

  • Senac Creek Nature Center

    Dec. 31 – open noon to 4:30 p.m.

    Dec. 24 and 25, and Jan. 1 – closed

  • Utah Indoor Pool

    Dec. 24, 25 and 31, and Jan. 1 – closed

Notes: On city holidays, payment for parking at on-street parking meters and commuter permit zones is not required, and posted, non-safety parking restrictions are not enforced.

Not affected by the holiday closures are the Detention Center, Police, Fire and Public Safety Communications operations.
