Seven Future Tigers Coming in 2023

Head coach Keri Sanchez announced today the seven players that will join the Colorado College women's soccer program next fall.

The players are Veronica Bianco (Portland, OR), Ava McCormick (Westport, CT), Kendall Memoly (Laguna Hills, CA), Tyler Rose (Huntington Beach, CA), Emma Smith (Castle Rock, CO), Erika Upson (Pleasant Hill, CA) and Regan Wallace (Rancho Cucamonga, CA).

 

"We are excited to introduce our incoming 2023 class," Sanchez said. "They are all committed and dedicated student-athletes who love to play the game. They will bring a variety of athleticism and skill to our team and we look forward to having them on campus come fall."

ODP and Club Notes: Played for Northwest Elite FC of the Elite Clubs National League … Led her 05G side to the Oregon State Championship … Attendee of US Soccer Training ID Centers and Region IV ODP Camp … Helped Northwest Elite capture the Crossfire Challenge title … Club team coached by former Colorado College All-America goalkeeper Janine Szpara.

High School Notes: Four-year letterwinner at Grant High School in Portland, Ore. … Team won the 2021 Oregon State title … All-Portland Interscholastic League First-Team selection.

Coach Sanchez's Comments: "Veronica has a great engine. She covers a lot of ground in the midfield and does well on both sides of the ball. She is technical and has good vision."

ODP and Club Notes: Played for CFC United of the Elite Clubs National League … Helped her 04G side to a couple of ECNL National Tournament appearances … Member of Connecticut ODP team in 2018.

High School Notes: Four-year letterwinner at Greens Farms Academy in Westport, Ct. … Team captain as a senior … Helped team advance to the league finals three times … Qualified for the NEPSAC playoffs each season.

Coach Sanchez's Comments: "Ava is a hard-working midfielder. She is a strong competitor, uses her body well, and thrives in 1v1 environments."

ODP and Club Notes: Played for So Cal Blues of the Elite Clubs National League … Team captain … Helped her 05G side to the Surf Cup and Blues Cup titles … Attendee of US Soccer Training ID Centers.

High School Notes: Two-year letterwinner in soccer and one in basketball at Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Laguna Hills, Calif. … Team captain as a senior … Four-time winner of scholar athlete award

Coach Sanchez's Comments: "Kendall brings a creative flair to the attacking midfield position. She can shoot from distance and does well playing the final pass."

ODP and Club Notes: Played for West Coast FC of the Girls Academy League … Helped her Orange County USL team capture the Florida U-17 title … Attendee of the Girls Academy National Invitational ID Camp.

High School Notes: Four-year letterwinner at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif. … Helped team to two Trinity League championships … Won the team's Impact Player Award.

Coach Sanchez's Comments: "Tyler is a true forward that likes to score goals in a variety of ways. She takes on at speed on the dribble and fearlessly crashes the goal well off crosses."

ODP and Club Notes: Played for Colorado Rapids Soccer Club … Team captain … Helped her 04G side to the Colorado State Championship … Team captain of US Soccer E64 team … Attendee of USYS Region IV National League and Colorado Select ODP Program.

High School Notes: Three-year letterwinner at Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, Colo. … Second-team all-conference selection.

Coach Sanchez's Comments: "Emma brings positive energy and great versatility. She can play attacking or defending positions. She has speed and competes with heart."

ODP and Club Notes: Played for DeAnza Force of the Elite Clubs National League … Three-time starter and team captain … Her 05G side ranked as high as 13th in the nation … Played in the ECNL Champions League … Invited to US National Region ID Camp and Philippines Women's Football National Team tryouts … Selected to ODP Program in 2021.

High School Notes: Letterwinner at College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, Calif 

Coach Sanchez's Comments: "Erika is a vocal leader from the keeper position for her teams. She is aggressive off her line and is good with distribution with both feet.

ODP and Club Notes: Played for So Cal Blues of the Elite Clubs National League … Helped her 05G side to the Surf Cup and Blues Cup titles … Also played one year in DA.

High School Notes: Three-year letterwinner at Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. … Two-time team captain … Team advanced to the CIF playoffs and the sectional finals.

Coach Sanchez's Comments: "Regan is a poised keeper with a strong presence in goal. She is a good shot stopper and is comfortable playing out of the back with her feet."
