WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06), member of the Pro-Choice Caucus, released this statement following the Supreme Court’s decision to allow Mifepristone, a widely used abortion medication, to stay on the market while litigation continues in lower courts over the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of the drug.

Last week, Congressman Crow joined 240 Members of Congress in sending an amicus brief to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit to overturn the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas’s misguided ruling to suspend FDA approval of Mifepristone.

In a statement, Congressman Crow said:

“I join women and health care providers in breathing a sigh of relief over the Supreme Court’s decision to protect access to Mifepristone nationwide. While this is a welcomed decision, women’s access to essential health care should never have been called into question.”

“As a member of the Pro-Choice Caucus, I will continue to fight for women’s reproductive freedom.”
