WASHINGTON — On June 6, Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO-06), Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability and member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, issued the following statement after reading the State Department’s internal dissent channel cable on the Afghanistan withdrawal.
In a statement, Congressman Crow said:
“The dissent channel cable is consistent with the prior briefing State Department provided to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Secretary Blinken’s ongoing efforts to preserve the integrity of the dissent channel safeguard this invaluable platform.
“As an Afghanistan veteran, the war and the withdrawal are personal to me. I will continue to advocate for a full and fair accounting of our 20 years in Afghanistan. America can’t afford to repeat the past.”
