WASHINGTON — On May 19, 2023, Congressman Jason Crow’s (CO-06) request for community project funding to expand access to local telehealth services was approved by the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food and Drug Administration. The $403,000 would go to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center’s Rural eConsult Expansion project to expand eConsults to additional Federally Qualified Health Centers in rural Colorado. The innovative telehealth platform gives health providers the ability to conduct online consultations with specialists and helps patients receive timely, effective treatment.
“Telehealth has been a lifeline for our families in hard-to-reach communities that face delays and lack of access to specialized health care. The Rural eConsult project will continue to deliver the high-quality, lower-cost health care needed by expanding this program,” said Congressman Crow. “I will continue fighting for projects that bridge the gaps and help Coloradans thrive in our district.”
Last year, Congressman Crow secured federal funding for 15 projects totaling nearly $21.3 million. This year, Crow has delivered those funds to the district. Crow delivered $1.5 million for Cherry Creek School District’s (CCSD) for a new first-of-its-kind in the nation, school district-operated mental health day treatment center, $2 million to establish Aurora Mental Health and Recovery’s one-stop Safety Net and Acute Care Center, and over $600,000 to support Douglas County’s Enhanced Model of Services project.
